Resumo

History of the Brazilian Journal of Music, created in 1934, the first musicology journal in Brazil. In 1980, the UFRJ School of Music created its first postgraduate program and the publication of RBM was resumed on an annual basis. The regularity of its publication, however, has always depended on the interest of its principal, who is the editor of RBM: the principal of the School of Music. The last issue was published in 2002, during the management of prof. João Guilherme Ripper. In 2009, by proposal of the Direction and decision of the Congregation of the School of Music, the magazine became the responsibility of the Graduate Program.
