This article is about an ethnographic revisit conducted in the field previously studied by Maxine Margolis, an American anthropologist who has conducted a pioneering research on Brazilians in New York in the 1990s. Sixty interviews with Brazilians were made in four regions of the New York metropolitan area. The results presented here are related to the characterization of these Brazilians and the identification of their profile changes, places where they live, and the way communities are located in the city based on class characteristics, educational level, origin and time of migration.Metrics
