The article focuses on the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the decision of Haitians to migrate to Brazil and to the city of Curitiba in particular. Bourdieu’s concepts of capital and habitus were applied to research on the communicative practices of Haitians in which migrant’s created mobility capital in a context of mediatized society and transnational globalization. Informational circularity bestowed an affective character to Haitian social media practices giving rise to new ways of “being a migrant”.Metrics
