The general objective of this research is to understand the dynamics of poultry production in the Micro-region of Guaporé/RS in four different moments: 1993, 2003, 2013 and 2017. The research was conducted in three phases. The first phase involved a bibliographic survey concerning poultry production chains. In the second phase secondary data concerning variation in the number of chickens over time in the twenty-one municipalities of the micro-region was collected in the Automatic Recovery System of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The third phase consisted of organizing the data in graphs in order to project the production chain in space whereby maps displayed where the municipalities with the greatest number of chicken are located. The analyses confirm the importance of the poultry productive chain in the micro-region under study, which has revitalized and restructured agrarian space at the local/regional/global level.
