Abstract

This paper focuses on concepts, notions and ideas of urbanity, urbanities, urbanities in the rural, urban society and urbanization as a planetary process. A (re)presentation of urbanities in rural areas is proposed as constitutive elements of space, grouped into some of the multiple dimensions that compose it. Physical-natural, symbolic-cultural, socioeconomic and technical dimensions are highlighted, although many other dimensions could be added.
