Abstract

There is a striking relationship between neotectonics and the morphology of the current landscape. In recent years, the tectonic involving the time interval of the Neogene and Quaternary (Neotectonics) have been widely investigated to explain the morphotectonic features, especially in the southeast and northeast of Brazil. The methodological basis used for studies on Geomorphology Tectonic shall include: lineaments of domain analysis on MDE, as they may indicate reactivation of Precambrian lines of weakness; Structural analysis offault/striae affecting the Precambrian basement weathered and neogenic deposits, which may point generating structures and tectonic relief events; morphotectonic analyzes that correspond to forms in the active tectonic control, the result of crustal movements in cenozoico; hipsometric analysis that may indicate high and low blocks with tectonic origin; analysis of the drainage network, by identifying anomalies drainage, drainage asymmetry calculation drainage patterns identification tectonically controlled, drainage network knickpoints guidance and identification. The central concern of this article is to show that not conducted research in geomorphology Tectonics disassociated from Neotectonics, since features derived from ancient tectonic activity have varying characteristics due to erosion.
