Abstract

The Territorial Management Laboratory (LAGET) played a pioneering role in the consolidation of the Graduate Program in Geography at UFRJ. This text intends to rescue the trajectory of the laboratory since its creation in 1987 as a collective space for reflection in human geography with strong orientation to applicability in the search for sustainability in development. Its presence was intense in the 1990s, when Brazil resumed the democratic path of formulation and implementation of public policies. His contribution to this process is present mainly in the Amazon and in the Brazilian Coastal and Maritime Zone.
