This paper approaches the analysis of inequality and segregation among high and low-income groups in the urban areas of medium-sized Spanish cities. Different sociodemographic characterization variables are utilized, and classic measurement indices are calculated to study this phenomenon (inequality, segregation, dissimilarity, and isolation indices). Generally, the results indicate less intense levels of inequality and segregation compared to those identified in large cities. A clear dissimilarity between the two income groups is also confirmed, revealing a higher degree of residential segregation among highincome individuals. Conversely, in low-income groups, there is a progressive increase in segregation due to the presence of foreign populations and high unemployment levels. Finally, a classification of urban areas according to their segregation index is established, and an attempt is made to correlate this gradation with certain socioeconomic variables. In all cases, the complexity of the phenomenon becomes evident as a multidimensional issue that requires further investigation into this reality in Spanish urban areas.
