Antifonte, o sofista: a noção de arrýthmiston

O objetivo deste trabalho é, num primeiro momento, fazer um pequeno balanço da tese de que o Antifonte sofista - autor de textos sobre a verdade, a concórdia, a questão política e um de um livro de interpretação de sonhos - não é o mesmo Antifonte, orador de Ramnos; para, em seguida, apresentar o que seria o conceito-chave deste pensador: o conceito de arrýthmiston. A partir da leitura que Gilbert Romeyer-Dherbey faz dos fragmentos, trata-se de mostrar que a noção serve para designar um fundo ontológico inseparável dos entes, uma espécie de solo transcendental informe sobre o qual se dariam os processos de formação. Deste modo, é possível vislumbrar uma alternativa às filosofias gregas da forma (como a teoria das Formas platônica ou hilemorfismo aristotélico). A ênfase passa a recair na idéia de devir infinito em lugar da idéia de um ser perfeito.

Abstract:

In a first moment this paper aims to reinforce the thesis that Antiphon, the sophist -- who wrote texts on truth, concord, political issues and a book to interpret dreams -- is not the same Antiphon who delivered speeches at Ramnus. Then, one tries to introduce what would be Antiphon's key-concept: the concept of arrýthmiston. Taking Gilbert Romeyer-Dherbey's reading of the fragments, the question is to show that this very notion functions as a designation for the ontological background of all what exists, a kind of informal transcendental ground for the processes of formation. On the basis of this interpretation it seems possible to find an alternative for the Greek philosophies of form such as Platonism and Aristotelianism. What is stressed now is the idea of an infinite becoming instead of the idea of a perfect being.
