POR QUE PERDEMOS? O OLHAR DA REVISTA PLACAR SOBRE A SELEÇÃO DO BRASIL NA COPA DE 1990

Resumo

Resumo: Este artigo trabalha a cobertura da revista Placar sobre a preparação e participação da seleção brasileira de futebol na Copa do Mundo da Itália, em 1990. O objetivo é perceber as discussões sobre o uso do sistema tático com líbero e a retórica sobre “modernizar” o futebol brasileiro ao estilo europeu. Antes, há uma contextualização sobre o futebol brasileiro, a seleção e a política da CBF no período. Ao final, indico a hipótese de que a conquista do tetra em 1994 começou na invenção da “era Dunga” pelo técnico Lazaroni na Copa de 1990, que formou a base e deu a experiência necessária aos atletas, bem como o sistema de jogo mais defensivista e pragmático.

Why did we lose it? Placar magazine's point of view regarding the Brazil national football team in the 1990 World Cup

Abstract: This article discusses the coverage of Placar magazine on the preparation and participation of the Brazilian soccer team in the World Cup in Italy, in 1990. The objective is to understand the discussions about the use of the tactical system with libero, as well as the rhetoric about trying to “Modernization” of Brazilian football to  the European style. In addition, there is a contextualization about Brazilian football, the team and the CBF policy in the period. In the final remarks, I suggest the hypothesis that the championship victory in 1994 started with the invention of the “Dunga era” by coach Lazaroni in the 1990 Cup, which formed the basis and gave the athletes the necessary experience, as well as the system more defensive and pragmatic.

¿Por qué perdemos? La mirada de la revista Placar sobre la selección de Brasil en el Mundial de 1990

Resumen: Este artículo trabaja la cobertura de la revista Placar sobre la preparación y participación de la selección brasileña de fútbol en el Mundial de Italia, en 1990. El objetivo es comprender las discusiones sobre el uso del sistema táctico con líbero y la retórica sobre “Modernizar” el fútbol brasileño al estilo europeo. Antes, hay una contextualización sobre el fútbol brasileño, la selección y la política de la CBF en el período. Al final, apunto la hipótesis de que la conquista del tetra en 1994 comenzó con la invención de la “era Dunga” por el entrenador Lazaroni en el Mundial de 1990, que sentó las bases y dio a los atletas la experiencia necesaria, así como el sistema de juego más defensivo y pragmático.
