Produção discursiva sobre suicídio e comunidade LGBT no Twitter

Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo focalizando a produção discursiva dos temas relacionados ao suicídio e comunidade LGBT em postagens do Twitter. Realizou-se uma busca nesta rede social, em língua portuguesa, com os termos “suicídio” e “LGBT”. A análise temática apontou as categorias: “O risco de suicídio na população LGBT”, “Experiências pessoais relacionadas ao suicídio”, “Uso do termo ‘suicídio’ fora do sentido literal”, “Prevenção”, “Poucas discussões sobre suicídio e LGBT” e “Críticas, ofensas e distorções”. Os tweets apresentavam conteúdos que evidenciam os principais fatores de risco e proteção para o comportamento suicida da comunidade LGBT, por meio de mensagens compreensivas, informativas ou depreciativas. Os estigmas que envolvem tais temas são largamente disseminados na rede social. A maneira acrítica como é tratado o fenômeno do suicídio na população LGBT evidencia despreparo da sociedade para lidar com essa questão complexa, de modo a reduzir a vulnerabilidade das pessoas expostas às mensagens.References
