Dead star: self fictional perspectives for HIV

Abstract

Dead star is a autofiction research in art for the HIV debate. I’m interested in proposing different narrative perspectives for the story of a dead family member. It’s an attempt to bury a body in words. Redoing a trauma. Autofiction is a device that launches more lucid narrative propositions and debates on the acquired immunodeficiency virus. Through documents, reports, photographs, dreams, memories, I reconstruct the story of a dead man, but I also attribute to him imagetic, fantastic and poetic panoramas. The reconstruction of my memory. A reunion with a ghost. It is an interest in the Aids scenario from the past to look at current events. It’s the desire to look at the dead in the HIV epidemic in the 1980s to give new perspectives to still-living bodies with HIV. It is an insurgency to moralistic discourse.
