Abstract

The article presents how different research fields have employed the term artificial stupidity. References range from technology philosophers such as Avital Ronell, Bernard Stiegler, and Vilém Flusser; to Professor Andrew Lo, from the financial innovation area; to articles in the gaming and programming fields; and to artists and artistic research institutions such as James Bridle, Hito Steyerl, and Serpentine Galleries. The result is an introduction to the converging and diverging interests on the term artificial stupidity and its relevance in situating us in emerging issues for digital arts and humanities and the field of thought on life in general.
