A ‘carreira moral' de jovens internos em instituições de recuperação para dependentes químicos

Resumo

O presente artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa concluída em 2010 e busca trazer alguns elementos para a compreensão da real intervenção e do alcance das práticas terapêuticas (médica ou religiosa) de três instituições fechadas que se propõem a recuperar dependentes químicos na cidade de Fortaleza. Os dependentes informantes desta pesquisa têm entre 15 e 29 anos e estão ou estiveram institucionalizados ou são profissionais de saúde e/ou religiosos que lidam diretamente com os jovens ao longo do processo. Procuro, a partir de seus discursos, traçar as possíveis interferências dessas práticas em suas relações com as drogas.

The ‘Moral Career' of Young Inmates in Drugs Rehab Programs presents the results of a research concluded in 2010 and gathers together some elements in order to understand the effectiveness of intervention and the scope of (medical or religious) treatment of three closed institutions that intend to rehabilitate addicts in the city of Fortaleza, Brasil. The interviewees in this research are between 15 and 29 years old and are or have been institutionalized. Health professionals and/or religious agents that deal directly with the inmates throughout the process were also heard. Based on their discourses, we try to understand the effects of these practices on their relations with drugs.
