The skin as a surface of affection in the art of Cristina Salgado: aesthetic-discursive bodies

Abstract

O artigo trata da relação entre discurso, corpo e subjetividade a partir da obra de arte Instantâneos (2002), de Cristina Salgado, compreendendo o corpo como agente e efeito de práticas discursivas e não discursivas. A análise estético-discursiva, fundamentada na filosofia de Deleuze e Guattari, investiga como a torção e tensionamento do corpo desestabilizam formas fixas de representação e criam espaços de potência estética e política. O texto também mobiliza conceitos como agenciamento coletivo de enunciação e Corpo sem Órgãos, para refletir sobre a inscrição e a reconfiguração de regimes de visibilidade, assim como, os atravessamentos entre o informe e o figurativo da obra de arte. A obra de Salgado, nesse contexto, atua como campo de forças que tensiona identidades sedimentadas, liberando o corpo de amarras representacionais e afirmando-o em sua multiplicidade e potência de existir.

Abstract
This article addresses the relationship between discourse, body, and subjectivity based on Cristina Salgado's artwork Instantaneos (2002), understanding the body as both an agent and an effect of discursive and non- discursive practices. The aesthetic-discursive analysis, based on the philosophy of Deleuze and Guattari, investigates how the twisting and tensioning of the body destabilize fixed forms of representation and create spaces of aesthetic and political power. The text also mobilizes concepts such as collective agency of enunciation and Body without Organs to reflect on the inscription and reconfiguration of regimes of visibility, as well as the intersections between the
formless and the figurative in the artwork. Salgado's work, in this context, acts as a field of forces that strains sedimented identities, freeing the body fromrepresentational ties and affirming it in its multiplicity and power to exist.
