This article is about a study of the graphic elements that compose visual messages in graphics projects focused on artistic cultural area. The case focused in the article is the visual analysis of twelve posters designed by Kiko Farkas for OSESP -- State Symphony Orchestra of São Paulo, produced between the years 2003 and 2007. The posters for OSESP refer to performances, concerts, plays, tours and institutional messages. This article uses the concepts of musicality, brought by Wisnick (1989), and visual language, brought by Dondis (2003) in the observation of musical posters. It also deals with ideas of different visual artists who wrote about similarities between musical and visual languages, as Kandinsky (1996, 1997) and Klee (2001). These associations can be imagined as a sensorial experience at first, but may be reflected physically in ways of structuring and organization of visual composition, which was observed in the posters.Downloads
