SELENIUM IN THE ENVIRONMENT.

Abstract


Selenium is known as an element of great physiological and ecotoxicological importance due to it is an essential micronutrient for some organisms, but it is also toxic at elevated concentrations. For this reason, there is an increasing interest in understanding the behavior of selenium in the environment. In this review, some important aspects related this element is described.
