MODELAMENTO DE ROTAS DE VISITAÇÃO
Abstract
The increasing concern with habitat fragmentation and reduction has shown the need to integrate studies of spatial structure with mechanisms of population dispersal. A series of models are currently being developed to analise and describe animal movement and its ecological conseÂquences. This paper focuses on the study of insect dispersal by means of individual models repreÂsented by the analysis of movement tracks, and reviews the applications of this technique in several research lines. The usefulness and limitations of two well-known models are explained in detail, and compared with alternative models.
