Abstract

The aim of the present paper was to carry on a report on the scientific contribution of the project “Biochemical and physiological behavior of Antarctic organisms” towards the Brazilian Antarctic Program, a project that established in 1983-1984 the biological research laboratories at the Brazilian Antarctic Station Commander Ferraz, King George Island, South Shetlands. It is given a brief report on the Project and its researchers, as well as on the elaboration of projects for the assembly of special instruments for the measurement of biological parameters from Antarctic organisms. It is also given an information on the researches carried out or being carried out whose results have being informed in National and International Meetings and Symposia, in formal publications as well as in Master Degrees and Doctors Thesis.
