O regionalismo latino-americano pós-liberal/pós-hegemônico a partir da teoria da autonomia
Abstract
This article employs historical periodization to explore the so-called post-liberal or post-hegemonic regionalism that emerged in the early 21st century, in the context of the ‘leftward shift’, with South America as its driving force. In contrast to previous regional projects, institutions created during this period (ALBA, UNASUR, CELAC), as well as changes introduced in MERCOSUR, highlighted not only commercial issues but also political and social ones. This constituted an effort to promote greater regional autonomy in relation to central countries, especially the USA. Marked by internal and external contradictions, this regionalism had a brief existence (approximately from 2003 to 2016), but its analysis remains relevant for understanding the different international integration strategies that can be conceived for the region.
