The Educational Action of the Villa-Lobos Museum in the context of institutional changes

Abstract

Villa-Lobos Museum´s outreach and education projects are discussed in the context of the guiding principles of the National Policy for Museum Education (2018) and the organizational changes that have taken place since 2009. The development of a museum plan for 2018-2021 helped set strategic objectives, which demanded a review of outreach and education projects and activities. A description of outreach projects development since the 1980s is given as well as of the activities created for the visitation of the exhibition Uirapuru: The Enchanted Amazon Bird with a focus on catering to the needs of K-12 teachers and students.
