Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor". When an identical or substantially similar work has been published, even in another language, this fact should be informed to the editor at the time of submission.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.

  • URLs for the references were informed when possible.

  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; uses italics instead of underline (except for URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments.

  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, in the About the Journal page.
  • In case of submission to a peer-reviewed section (e.g. articles), the instructions available under Ensuring blind peer review were followed.
  • No other article of my authorship is currently under the evaluation of this journal.

  • In the case of undergraduate or master's degree students, the proposal was co-authored with the research's doctoral advisor.
  • No fees will be charged to authors in the submission, evaluation and publication of articles.

Author Guidelines

1. No reference indicating authorship will be allowed.

2. It will not be accepted the simultaneous submission of more than one article proposal under the same authorship. If this occurs, the second submission will not be evaluated.

3. Contributions sent by undergraduate and master's degree students must be submitted in co-authorship with the respective master or doctoral advisor.

4. It is recommended that the submitted manuscripts do not exceed 20 pages in Times New Roman font, size 12 and single spacing.

5. Notes should be sequentially numbered in arabic numbers and placed at the foot of the page (footer).

6. Footnotes that include content information should be brief and focused on only one subject. Content notes may also point the reader to other sources.

7. The article should include an abstract, with approximately 10 lines, and indicate at least 3 and at most 6 keywords.

8. The keywords are fundamental for the correct indexing of the work. It is recommended to include the indicative word of the sub-area in which the paper is inserted. It is also recommended to verify the occurrence of the words in national and international databases, such as the vocabulary of authorities of the National Library (http://acervo.bn.br/sophia_web/).

9. When the text is written in Portuguese, the title, abstract and keywords must be translated into English; when written in English or Spanish, must be translated into Portuguese.

10. Direct quotations that do not exceed three lines must remain in the body of the text, between quotation marks -- without italics or bold. Direct quotations that exceed three lines should be highlighted and indented from the left margin -- without italics or bold.

11. Book titles should appear in italics; article titles should appear in quotation marks. Latin or foreign language words -- with reference to the language in which the text was written -- should appear in italics. Italics may also be used as an emphasis resource by the author himself. Never use bold in the body of the text.

12. Direct and indirect citation references should appear in footnote and indicate only the author(s) last name, in capital letters, followed by the year of publication and (when applicable) the page. Example: HART, 1961, p. 15.

13. The complete references must be indicated in a separate section, after the conclusion, following the technical rules of NBR 6023 (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards).

14. The editors recommend the use of clear, precise and coherent language. The use of inclusive gender language is at the discretion of the author.
