Continuar simbolizando o mal: quase nada, quase real. Bataille, Ricoeur e a literatura

Resumo: Este artigo apresenta-se como contribuição para o pensamento ético contemporâneo em suas ligações com o campo dos estudos literários. Hoje, a preocupação com os males não tem produzido uma reflexão coerente sobre o mal. Dois livros que se dedicam frontalmente a esta questão e vêm aqui articulados de forma ousada, A Simbólica do mal de Paul Ricœur e A Literatura e o mal de Georges Bataille permitem mostrar que a promoção do campo simbólico é indispensável para a consolidação do discurso ético, e que a literatura, fundamental na tarefa de simbolização, participa da história da consciência do mal e da realidade humana. Argumentando que o pensamento crítico atual precisa ultrapassar o interdito racional que pesa sobre o símbolo para aceitar sem ingenuidade o desafio da interpretação, o artigo defende que. Não entendi por qual motivo tiraríamos o “que” esta é a melhor opção para imaginar novas formas de transformação do mundo.

Abstract: This article presents itself as a contribution to contemporary ethical thinking in its links with the field of literary studies. Today, concern for evil has not produced a coherent reflection on evil. Two books that are dedicated to this question and come boldly here, The Symbolic of the Evil of Paul Ricœur and The Literature and the Evil of Georges Bataille allow us to show that the promotion of the symbolic field is essential for the consolidation of the ethical discourse, and that literature, fundamental in the task of symbolization, participates in the history of the consciousness of evil and of human reality. Arguing that current critical thinking must overcome the rational prohibition that weighs on the symbol in order to accept without ingenuity the challenge of interpretation, the article claims that this is the best option to imagine new ways of transforming the world.
