O artigo pretende discutir a função retórica e simbólica do excremento nos discursos filosóficos-literários modernos através de uma análise das estratégias narrativas presentes em Sade e em Nietzsche, assinalando seu pertencimento a umhorizonte histórico intelectual mais amplo.
