This article aims to rethink photography beyond representation, drawing inspiration from the ideas of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. However, how can we approach them in relation to photography? Instead of directly applying their concepts to the field of photography, we are interested in a more challenging photo, one that resists and maintains a critical silence akin to the philosophers' stance on the subject. To inhabit this zone of divergence, we move towards photography produced by handmade cameras, examining the images of Miroslav Tichý and Dirceu Maués. The expectation is that these photographers, their images, and their practices, somewhat contrary to Deleuze's propositions, challenge the dogmatic image of thought, shifting photography towards the proliferation of worlds and the assembling of differences.
