In a city with a strong presence of riverine peasants, seasonal centralities and fragments of intra-urban space are connected to the surrounding territory. Riverbank moorings located in low-income neighborhoods and private ports appropriated by commercial firms denote different temporalities, logics of use and movement of people in the city. The aim here is to understand the production of urban-riverine peasant territorialities. The two are shown to have complementary functions in the territorial system of the local urban economy, one supplying low-income consumers and the other supporting mercantile capitalist activities, both of which underwrite the seasonal extraction of resources through the spatial practices of fishers and naval carpenters.Metrics
