This article has the aim of analyzing Haitian immigration in Brazil, focusing on the situation of Haitian immigrants in downtown São Paulo. The analysis starts with a double reflection on the reasons that lead Haitians to emigrate to Brazil and their daily struggle to survive in the metropolis of São Paulo. This immigration is linked to spatial mobility of the workforce within the framework of a world capitalist system characterized by uneven development. Methods included bibliographic research, consulting official records and direct observation and interviews with Haitian immigrants.Metrics
