Salinópolis city is located northeast of the Pará State (Amazon Region – Brazil), and it has Belém as its main touristic consumers market. This article analizes the relationship between these cities as a result of a slow and gradual process from a historical-geographical point of view: the urban centrality built and exercised by Belém. Considering covid-19 economic impacts, the urban centrality became more explicit, meaningly, altering the economic and social mobility between cities. Applying a theoretical filter in urban space social production and its application in the bibliographic and documentary data analysis, the results indicated that Belém centrality over Salinópolis is not restricted exclusively to the territory modernization processes between the cities and consume
capacity, but also to an interrelationship between the economy and Pará State participation in sustaining this condition through historical and geographical process in Eastern Amazon.
