Joining up with an idea very dear to mythical ancient Greek tradition, Empedocles conceives man as a degenerate of the gods, a conception which guides and determines all sense of his philosophy, as well as its necessity: it's necessary to lead the human being to its original divinity. For this, only and solely the knowledge can indicate this return path and reveal what is follow it.
