Abstract

Our aim is to unfold the questions and arguments about pornography and prostitution, as well as their psychic effects. Trying to overcome moralisms and at the risk of falling into cynicism, we seek to explore in particular the relationship between labor, sex, gender and capitalism: after all, how are other non-sexual jobs less pimped out than prostitution? How do unpaid sexual relations differ from paid ones? What is the relationship between a pornographic image – and what it teaches us to desire – and any advertisement? What is the role of excitement and frustration in late capitalism? How does the current sexual division of labor occur? These are just some of the questions that drive us in this writing, but which we don't necessarily intend to answer. On the contrary: our intention is to encourage a debate, locating its vital points, before claiming to exhaust it based on thinkers such as Silvia Federici, Virginie Despentes, Monique Wittig and Paul Preciado.
