Abstract

This article investigates the concept of archive according to Jacques Derrida, not only as a storehouse of knowledge but also as a catalyst for violence. Derrida, in his 1994 conference in London, proposes the "archive fever," challenging the conventional view. Inspired by Freud, he associates the archive with the duality of life and death, viewing it as a generator of violence that perpetuates oppressions such as colonization and slavery, often legitimized by the state without scientific basis. Derrida's deconstruction aims to displace the meaning of "archive," exposing the contradictions of logocentrism and contributing to academic philosophical discourse.
