Associação entre adversidades na infância e personalidade patológica em adultos

As adversidades na infância são experiências nocivas e recorrentes, fatores de risco para uma série de desfechos negativos na adultez, incluindo transtornos de personalidade. O objetivo principal deste estudo foi examinar a relação entre o escore cumulativo de adversidades e os indicativos potenciais para patologias de personalidade, na amostra total e por grupo com baixo/moderado risco de estresse ou alto risco de estresse devido a eventos do último ano. Participaram 507 pessoas com idades entre 18 e 59 anos (M = 30,5 anos; DP = 10,4). Foi encontrada associação entre o escore cumulativo de adversidades e indicativos potenciais para transtornos de personalidade, sendo o tamanho de efeito maior no grupo com alto risco de estresse. O escore cumulativo de adversidades parece ser um indicador de risco para patologias de personalidade. Salienta-se a necessidade de ações preventivas e de identificação da ocorrência de adversidades, para realização de intervenções.
