Abstract

The interview with Carlos Fajardo took place online on October 27, 2025, with André Leal, Felipe Scovino, Fernanda Lopes, Patricia Corrêa, and Tiago Mesquita as interviewers. The discussion revolved around the beginning of Fajardo's artistic career, his classes with Wesley Duke Lee, his intrinsic relationship with drawing, painting, and, of course, installation, and his involvement with the Grupo Rex and the formation of Escola Brasil:. Using the metaphor of the construction site as a starting point, the interview explored iconic works and exhibitions by the artist that dealt with concepts such as ruin, crack, eroticism, and the sign of the mirror. Finally, his experience as a professor in the training of artists and his peculiar way of teaching were discussed.
