Abstract

This article aims to address theoretical questions about the construction methodology of Samuel Abrantes' costumes, through the analysis of the costume of the character “O Prospero”, object of research in the dissertation, in the Professional Master's Degree in Arts, which carries out the construction of textile surfaces, with discarded and scrap materials. The unfolding of his creative process demonstrates the artist's entire methodology and his ability to create poetry with new textile surfaces, different from those for sale on the market. The polyphony between art, technology and craftsmanship, united in a visual harmony and full of meanings, are the result of his textile poetics.
