Protest Events, Organizational Repertory and Dynamics of Public and Free Transport Construction as a Public Cause

The article examines the events, mobilizations and public protests in defense of public and free transportation in Aracaju, Sergipe. The methodology consisted in analyzing the conditions of emergence and transformation of social movements in Sergipe, in comparison with the dynamics in progress in the national political context, in the conduct of biographical interviews with leaders who played the role of mediators and in examining the sequence and the triggering of events of mobilization and protest. The research showed that the organizational models used to defend this cause are strongly related to the established links between the State, social movements and their leaderships, confirming the weight of the links between the transformations of the political context, the social repertoires of the social movements, the grammars the construction of public causes and the logics of individual engagement.
