Notes for a Problematization of the Public Practice of the Families of Victims of Insecurity in Argentina in the Last Decade

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to characterize the public practice of the relatives of the victims of crime in Argentina in the last decade, paying special attention to four high-visibility cases occurred in two provincial capitals. With this objective, we conducted a comprehensive review of the press, analyzed the content of social networks and did extensive interviews with “activist relatives”. The analysis allows observing variations in the interventions of these actors and valuations by which constitute their identities in public space.

El artículo se propone caracterizar a la práctica pública de los familiares de las víctimas de la inseguridad en la Argentina de la última década, reparando particularmente en el despliegue público de cuatro casos de alta visibilidad ocurridos en dos capitales provinciales. Con estos fines realizamos un exhaustivo registro de prensa gráfica, analizamos el contenido de redes sociales y mantuvimos entrevistas en profundidad con familiares activistas. Como punto de llegada el análisis permite visualizar variantes en las intervenciones de estos actores, así como valoraciones mediante las cuales constituyen sus identidades en el espacio público.
