Community Policing in the Minas Gerais Civil Police (Brazil): Notes on an Attempt at Organizational Change

This paper aims to understand how community policing, which aims at a change in organizational objectives, promotes changes in the police that decide to adopt it, by studying its application in the Civil Police of Minas Gerais, demonstrating how this community model insertion occurs. policing in a segment focused on investigative practice. Therefore, we used as framework of analysis the structuring concepts of sociology of organizations from a qualitative research conducted in 2017. The notes generated are that community policing is configured as a new name for old practices within the institution under analysis.Published
