Abstract

In this interview, Joel Rufino addresses the processes of formation of popular goods and the dilemmas of social movements in the face of disputes for recognition and the dynamics of commodification of cultural heritage. When talking about his experience as a militant, he criticizes what he perceives to be an individualistic tendency in contemporary agendas. However, even considering the negative effects of globalization, he tries to point out the potentialities of creative processes involved in social struggles and cultural manifestations. A conversation that remains relevant today as it illuminates challenges concerning the processes of social transformation.
