Police Corruption in Debate: Deviance and Impunity in Police Institutions in Rio de Janeiro

The article aims to discuss police corruption in Rio de Janeiro considering the perceptions of policemen on the subject. This clipping was chosen to give voice to the native speech and to oppose these perceptions to the legal-formal discourse, which, in general, relies on the economy as an explanation for corruption. In order to do so, the article was divided into three parts. The first one concentrates on theorizing the concept of corruption. The second is dedicated to the police corruption data in Rio de Janeiro, and the third presents the justifications for police corruption based on to the native speech.
