Abstract

"Admiration exercises" is the title of Patricia Brandstatter's research and exhibition. In this project, motivated by a gesture of homage, the artist painted paintings inspired by reading poems written by the contemporary Brazilian poet Ana Martins Marques in O livro dos jardins (2023). Therefore, from the theme of gardens explored by the poet in her book, the painter revives the tradition of landscape and garden painting to create her works. Therefore, this work aims to read the poems and the paintings, aiming to analyze the dialogue between word and image, poetry and painting, in the poems and visual works that embody this dialogue.
