Título: O embondeiro e a mulemba: árvores e literatura

A presença de árvores é um dado recorrente nas literaturas africanas de língua portuguesa, que, em geral, as situam como intermediárias entre as divindades e os humanos. O presente trabalho buscará recortar a presença de duas árvores: a mulemba, no romance Yaka, do escritor angolano, Pepetela, e o embondeiro, no conto “o embondeiro que sonhava pássaros”, do escritor moçambicano, Mia Couto. Em ambas as narrativas, compondo o viés mitológico, elas servem de abrigo e simbolizam resistência ao dominador.
