Este artigo tem por objetivo estudar a musicalidade presente na poesia de José Craveirinha,
como um dos elementos fundamentais de afirmação identitária moçambicana e da expressão
dos sentimentos do sujeito poético. Busca mostrar a exploração, em seus versos, das
sonoridades e dos ritmos africanos, como parte do projeto poético de recriação da língua do
colonizador. São analisados poemas das duas obras iniciais de Craveirinha -- Xigubo e
Karingana ua Karingana --, consideradas emblemáticas da expressão musical característica
das culturas moçambicanas e africanas.
