Abstract

In this essay, we propose a reflection on the affective relations established between the  Mozambican poet Rui Knopfli, the city of Lourenço Marques (colonized)/Maputo (post-colonial),  and Mozambique Island. Our purpose is not only to apprehend the geographical space, but also  the affective poetics established between the poet, the cities and their citizens.
