In this article, we propose to analyze the relationships between history, literature, and truth in two works by José Luandino Vieira: Nosso Musseque and O livro dos guerrilheiros. Based initially on Walter Benjamin's contrast between historicism and historical materialism, the aim is to observe how the author brings this discussion to the realm of fiction through his narrators and devices linked to metafiction.
