Abstract

Starting from a comment on the strong affective relations between Brazil and the  Portuguese former-colonies, this article aims at reflecting on the presence of textual dialogues  in works by writers settled in Africa, regarding the texts of Brazilian authors. More precisely, it  aims at pointing out, in Ruy Duarte's Desmedida, the use of intertextuality as one of its more  important textual strategies, the term sertão being -- with its multiple senses -- a guiding  element.
