This article aims to analyze the poetic subject and the configuration and importance of resistance poetry in which the Cape Verdean poet Vera Duarte is included. She firmly and firmly assumes the role of spokesperson in the contemporary literature scene in her country and throughout Portuguese-speaking Africa. With a strong and determined poetic subject, Vera Duarte marks female poetry in Africa, opening the doors to the demonstration of strength of the African woman who, through her body and her sensitivity, sings the memories that form her people. In her poetry, the concern is not with the consumer text, but with the commitment to representation and resistance through the keen and attentive perception of African women.
