Adaptations and biology of exposed sandy beaches macrofauna with emphasis in the intertidal species of Fluminense littoral

Abstract


This contribution is a short report of the main macrofauna adaptations, behaviour and life cycle in exposed beaches, considering aspects as zonation, migration and activity rhythms. This work also presents a synthesis of information on the population biology of the most abundant species of the intertidal zone of reflective beaches in Rio de Janeiro.
