Abstract
This article aims to decode the icons which form the representations of women built by the Roman North-African society, to identify the context of their production, their
sociocultural inferences and to insert them into a gender perspective, using the isotopical semantic analysis of three mosaics of the Africa Proconsularis from the Late Empire and collating them with others sources. Thus, it is intended to understand the dynamics of the power relations, the play between the stable situations and the sociocultural changes that affected the Roman women.
