O cadastro no sistema e posterior acesso, por meio de login e senha, são obrigatórios para a submissão de trabalhos, bem como para acompanhar o processo editorial em curso. Acesso em uma conta existente ou Registrar uma nova conta.

Condições para submissão

Como parte do processo de submissão, os autores são obrigados a verificar a conformidade da submissão em relação a todos os itens listados a seguir. As submissões que não estiverem de acordo com as normas serão devolvidas aos autores.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
  • The submission file must be in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.
  • The text must be single-spaced, in Arial font, size 12, figures and tables must be inserted as attachments.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, on the About the Journal page.
  • In case of submission to a peer-reviewed section (e.g. articles), the instructions available in Ensuring blind peer review were followed.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

The Revista Brasileira de Neurologia is an open-access journal and Official Organ of the Deolindo Couto Institute of Neurology of UFRJ and Brazilian Academy of Neurology RJ (ABN-RJ / ANERJ). Its objective is to disseminate high-quality articles, with a primary focus on clinical aspects of Neurology, covering basic and clinical neurosciences, as well as related disciplines (speech therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, neuropsychology), contributing to the professional improvement and continuing education of specialists in the field.  

Publication and Access

Published quarterly in electronic format, the journal has an electronic ISSN of 2447-2573 and is indexed in BIREME, Google Scholar, LILACS, and Miguilim, among others. Access to the content is free and available on the VHL pages, on the UFRJ Journal portal (https://revistas.ufrj.br/index.php/rbn/index), on the INDC portal (http://server2.indc.ufrj.br/index.php/home), and on ABN-RJ (https://www.neuro.org.br).

There are no payment fees for submission or publication.

Types of Accepted Manuscripts

Editorial (by invitation)
Original articles (clinical or experimental research)
Review articles (narrative, systematic, meta-analysis)
Opinions, brief communications and case reports that expand knowledge or suggest new hypotheses
Historical note
Imaging in neurology
Other (at the discretion of the editors)

Language, Review, and Presentation

Texts must be written only in English and undergo careful grammatical and spelling checks. The RBN adopts the standards of the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (https://www.icmje.org/icmje-recommendations.pdf). Manuscripts must be presented in Word, Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1 spacing. All pages must be numbered.

Submission and Copyright

RBN adopts the CC-BY-NC license. The authors retain the copyright and grant RBN the exclusive right to carry out the first peer-reviewed scientific publication in the online format. The manuscript must be unpublished and not be submitted to another journal.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's electronic system (https://revistas.ufrj.br/index.php/rbn/index).

The following should be included:

1. COVER LETTER AND CONFORMITY OF THE MANUSCRIPT WITH OPEN SCIENCE COMMUNICATION PRACTICES* (see model at the end of this document);
2. Main manuscript with authors' names;
3. Manuscript without authors' names for blind evaluation by the reviewer;
4. In the case of figures or tables, attach them as Supplementary Material, outside the main manuscript, in a high-resolution document. The places where figures or tables are to be inserted should be indicated in the main manuscript, and the captions should be attached to it.;

5. In the article's review phase(s), authors should always include a letter to the reviewers, pointing out item by item, regarding the changes in the text and/or the justifications why the suggested modifications have not been considered. 

Evaluation Process

The editorial board will initially analyze the manuscripts, and may be sent for peer review. The final acceptance or refusal is the decision of the editorial board, based on the evaluations of the reviewers


Text Organization

Title Page
Full and abbreviated title: Maximum of 150 characters, with translation into another language (Portuguese or English) and abbreviated title of up to 30 characters.
Author information: Full name, institutional affiliation (up to three levels), city, state, and country, academic degree, current job title, and ORCID. There must be a corresponding author with an electronic address (e-mail).
Conflict of interest statement.
Funding statement.
Authors' contributions, following the CRediT taxonomy.
Supplemental Information: Details on suggested reviewers, ethical statements, or clinical trial registries, if applicable.
Resumo e Abstract
Original articles, reviews, historical notes and case reports: Maximum of 250 structured words, followed by seven keywords and keywords.
Other types: No abstract or keywords. Keywords and keywords should follow the Health Science Descriptors (http://decs.bvs.br/).

Responsibilities

Human or animal studies should mention ethical approval, including the CAAE number. Authors are responsible for the article's content and must ensure ownership of the rights to the images.

Open Access Policy

The journal adopts an open access policy, allowing all articles to be accessed for free online.
