Abstract

Introduction: Occupational therapy in Primary Health Care (PHC) can significantly contribute to comprehensive care, yet there is limited recognition of the profession’s roles among multiprofessional teams. This study aimed to develop and validate a guidance manual on occupational therapy practices in PHC. Methods: A methodological, quantitative study conducted in three stages: integrative review, guide development, and validation with expert judges and the target audience. Results: The review identified 10 articles that supported the creation of a 22-page guide with organized content and visual resources. Validation with 10 expert judges showed high CVI values (0.94; 0.99; 0.92). Among 12 PHC professionals, all sections reached indices between 0.99 and 1.0. Suggested adjustments were incorporated. Discussion: High agreement among evaluators indicates quality, clarity, and applicability of the material, enhancing understanding of occupational therapy roles and strengthening collaborative practices in PHC. Conclusion: Despite the small number of evaluators and heterogeneity of studies, the guide shows potential to increase the profession’s visibility and improve care, with recommendations for real-world testing and future regional adaptations.
